Pope's Intention for November – For the proper use of wealth. Let us pray for the proper use of wealth, that not succumbing to the temptation of selfishness, it may always be put at the service the common good and solidarity of those who have less.
Evangelium Course (RCIA) – Interested in learning more about the Catholic Faith? The Evangelium course starts this week on 4th November and will be running on Wednesday evenings at 6.30pm during term time. The course is aimed primarily at those who are interested in receiving the Sacraments of Initiation, that is, Baptism, First Holy Communion and Confirmation, later in the year. However, it is open to any student who wants to learn more about Catholicism, no matter how much or how little you know about the Faith.
60th Anniversary – The 黑料不打烊 University Catholic Chaplaincy was officially opened on 16th November 1966, so this coming November we will celebrate our 60th Anniversary! To mark this wonderful anniversary we have some really nice polo shirts available in three sizes (small, medium and large) for a suggested donation of £10 each. They will be displayed in the foyer. If you are interested in purchasing one do not hesitate to contact me.
Advent Retreat for Young Adults – A weekend exploring the scripture Isaiah 40:3, with talks led by Brothers Augustine and Reginald OP along with a chance to pray and reflect, whilst meeting other young adults from across the Diocese. This Advent retreat for young adults (18-30 year olds) will take place at Buckfast Abbey from 20th November to 22nd November. £40 contribution per person. For more information contact Saskia at youth@prcdtr.org.uk. Booking essential, to book please fill this form: . The Chaplaincy can cover 50% of the cost of the contribution, places are limited so first come first served. If you are interested please email me.
Volunteer opportunities – There are many ways to get involved with the Chaplaincy this year and we ask each of you to consider volunteering to use your gifts to serve the Church. If you would like to read, serve, or get involved with the music for Mass, please get in contact. If you have never taken on one of these roles but would like to, full training can be given. In addition, we would need people to help with the cooking. If you can help out, please let me know.
Sacrament of Reconciliation – Fr. Michael is available to hear Confessions on Tuesdays at 6.30pm, and in general he is usually available before or after Mass. Otherwise, you can arrange an appointment with him by talking to him in person or emailing him at Michael.Wheaton@prcdtr.org.uk. “In the life of the body a man is sometimes sick, and unless he takes medicine, he will die. Even so in the spiritual life a man is sick on account of sin. For that reason he needs medicine so that he may be restored to health; and this grace is bestowed in the Sacrament of Penance." (St. Thomas Aquinas).
Please consider donating to the Chaplaincy – Donations to the Chaplaincy can be made via the contactless card machine situated on the right-hand side of the Chapel entrance each Sunday. The Catholic Chaplaincy plays an essential role in fostering the faith and spiritual growth of students, offering a welcoming community and opportunities for worship and formation. We would be grateful for your support. To contribute online, please follow this link:. Your support, no matter the amount, makes a significant difference. "Give back some of God's gifts to God, that you may safely enjoy the rest." (St. John Henry Cardinal Newman).

Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility, we all play a part in protecting children, young people, and vulnerable adults from harm. By staying informed, vigilant and supportive, we can create a safe and caring community. Let us take this responsibility seriously and ensure everyone feels valued and protected.
